AMANDA TOWNSHIP - Amanda Township joined the Ohio Treasurer’s online checkbook site to show provide another layer of transparency in government spending.

Amanda Township is the third township in Fairfield County to join OhioCheckbook.com. There are more than 2,900 transactions totaling more than $1.3 million in expenditures over three years that can be viewed and searched on the website.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel launched OhioCheckbook.com in December 2014 in a an effort to improve government transparency.

“I believe the people of Fairfield County have a right to know how their tax money is being spent, and I applaud local leaders here for partnering with my office to post the finances on Ohio Checkbook.com,” Mandel said in press release. “By posting local government spending online, we are empowering taxpayers across Ohio to hold public officials accountable.”
