Treasurer Josh Mandel Hosts CPIM Conference in Bowling Green

Press Release - Ohio Treasurer's Office

BOWLING GREEN – Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s office hosted a Center for Public Investment Management (CPIM) conference on Thursday for Ohio public funds managers in Bowling Green.  CPIM provides local government investment officers with continuing education training as they work to safeguard taxpayer dollars.

Public funds officials in Ohio are required by law to receive continuing education credits in the areas of investment and management of public finances.  CPIM conferences cover a variety of topics and provide comprehensive financial training that benefits public funds managers at all levels of experience.

In addition to today’s conference, the Treasurer’s office presented an interactive demonstration of OhioCheckbook.com to CPIM attendees and took questions on state and local finances, updates from the Treasurer’s office and the most recent initiative of the Treasurer’s Transparency Project.

“Local government finance officers have a responsibility to manage and protect Ohio’s tax dollars,” said Treasurer Mandel.  “I am proud to assist in this mission by providing continuing education to local government finance officers to better safeguard public funds.”

The Ohio Treasurer’s office offers CPIM Conferences throughout the year, as well as courses online, to help government finance officers meet their continuing education requirements while increasing their knowledge as they work to effectively manage and safeguard Ohio’s tax dollars.
