Treasurer Mandel Hosts Northwest Ohio Smart Money Choices Conference
PERRYSBURG – Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s office hosted the Northwest Ohio Smart Money Choices workshop in Perrysburg on July 18th. During the workshop, attendees heard presentations on various financial education and planning topics including budgeting, credit and debt, investments, retirement planning, student funding and consumer protection.
“It is important for Ohioans in today’s global economy to have the knowledge and resources to help them make solid financial decisions for their families,” said Treasurer Mandel. “Our office is proud to bring together these resources that will help them achieve their personal finance goals.”
Smart Money Choices is a free, half-day financial planning workshop for all Ohioans, presented annually by the Ohio Treasurer’s office and supported by a variety of statewide and regional partners. Friday’s event in Perrysburg featured presentations from a variety of financial professionals, including representatives from the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority, the Social Security Administration, the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Trinity and Great Lakes Credit Union.
Other organizations such as Ohio Housing Finance Authority, Directions Credit Union, Ohio State University Extension, Ohio Department of Commerce, Mental Health & Addiction Services and the Small Business Administration hosted tables at the event and provided financial education resources.
The Smart Money Choices Conference series is held throughout the state and allows Ohioans the opportunity to hear from money management professionals on a range of financial literacy topics to help them make more informed financial decisions.
