Treasurer Josh Mandel Hosts CPIM Conference in Sharonville
Press Conference - Ohio Treasurer's Office
SHARONVILLE – Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel’s office hosted a Center for Public Investment Management (CPIM) conference today at the Sharonville Conference Center in Sharonville. CPIM provides comprehensive financial training in the areas of finance, investments, cash management and ethics, and allows Ohio’s public funds managers the opportunity to receive continuing education training in order to better safeguard taxpayer dollars.
Public funds managers in Ohio are required by law to receive continuing education credits in the areas of investment and management of public finances. In order to obtain these credits, public funds managers can attend CPIM conferences, CPIM accredited courses sponsored by a professional association, or CPIM online courses.
The Treasurer’s office offers CPIM Conferences throughout the year and has expanded the total online course offerings to six, allowing Ohio’s finance officers the opportunity to receive training at their convenience.
“I am proud to offer CPIM workshops to help Ohio’s public funds managers work to better manage and protect the tax dollars,” said Treasurer Mandel. “These trainings are a great opportunity for public finance officers to share best practices and receive vital continuing education.”
This year, the Treasurer’s office launched MyCPIM, a new online reporting system to help streamline and simplify the CPIM experience for local government finance officers. By leveraging technology, MyCPIM offers a one-stop-shop for all CPIM needs where users can report hours, request certification of a Notice of Exemption, download Certificates of Completion, and more.
In addition to today’s conference, the Treasurer’s office presented an interactive demonstration of OhioCheckbook.com to CPIM attendees and provided updates from the Treasurer’s office on this most recent initiative of the Treasurer’s Transparency Project.
