Census data determines how much federal money Ohio will receive annually
Columbus – Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce just appeared on the Department of Aging’s Finer with Age program to encourage seniors to take 10 minutes to answer 10 questions that will effect funding in Ohio for the next 10 years. He also stressed how important it is for people who live in Ohio more than 50 percent of the year to fill out their Census forms. This includes students and snowbirds that may not consider Ohio their full-time residence.

“Census questionnaires will be mailed in mid-March. Forms are sent to every residence. That means residents living in Ohio and in Florida will receive forms at both addresses,” said Boyce. “Snowbirds should list their Ohio residence as their permanent household if they spend the majority of the year in the Buckeye State.”
As the chair of the Ohio Complete Count Committee, Treasurer Boyce is committed to an accurate count for Ohio. The 2010 Census determines the distribution of $400 billion in annual government funding for critical community services across the nation. Those services may include school lunch programs, senior citizen centers and construction projects.
