Target Audiences: School Districts
Course Description:
This course will provide an overview of the various financial and operational components for Ohio School Facilities. Topics will include Operation management software, contracting outsource partners for preventative maintenance, energy management and purchasing, annual budgeting for maintenance and capital planning.
Course Learning Objectives:
This course is designed to provide Treasurers, Business Mangers, and other fiscal officers of the school district a better understanding of the various elements to be considered when budgeting or reviewing the costs of operating and maintaining the buildings, grounds, and physical assets of the district.
Statement of Accreditation Rationale:
Ohio School Districts are responsible to provide the most effective and efficient financial stewardship for the taxpayers. Outside of the payroll component, building operational costs are the largest expenditure that the district will incur. The attendees will learn current market trends in managing these costs while providing the required maintenance to insure the assets useful life.
